Happy Independence Day

In honor of this day, I'm taking a look at ancestors who fought for independence during the American Revolution.

Titus Fox was born between 1756-1762 and died on 22 Jun 1825 in Hopkins County, Kentucky. He enlisted from Wilkes County, North Carolina. [5th great-grandfather, Hankins line]

Henry Goodloe was born about 1730 in Spotsylvania County, Virginia and died there about 1820. He enlisted from Virginia on 18 Dec 1780. [6th great-grandfather, Hankins line]

John Hankins was born about 1760 in Frederick County, Virginia and died after 1833 in Hopkins County, Kentucky. He enlisted from Frederick County, Virginia. [5th great-grandfather, Hankins line]

James Lanier was born on 11 Nov 1724 in Brunswick County, Virginia and died about 1786 in Pitt County, North Carolina. He enlisted from Pitt County, North Carolina. [5th great-grandfather, Lanier line]

David Owens was born on 21 Sep 1759 in Halifax County, Virginia and died in 1822 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. He enlisted from Wilkes County, North Carolina. [4th great-grandfather, Taylor line]

Thomas Ramsey, Sr. was born about 1758 in Essex County, Virginia and died on 5 Jun 1843 in Garrard County, Kentucky. He enlisted from Essex County, Virginia on 15 Feb1776. [4th great-grandfather, Taylor line]

This is not necessarily a complete list, just the ones I've identified so far. I haven't found a loyalist yet in my direct line although Benedict Arnold was my 4th cousin, 8 times removed.
